Inter wing-back Robin Gosens is close to being fully match-fit and ready to make a telling contribution to the Nerazzurri’s run-in to the season.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, who suggest that the German has looked just about ready to play from the start and be back to his best.

Gosens came off the bench at half-time during Inter’s Serie A draw with Torino yesterday evening, and while he couldn’t do much better than Ivan Perisic had in the final third, he showed all his workrate and defensive quality.

The 27-year-old made a vital intervention to keep Josip Brekalo from scoring into an empty net, and in general did not look far off the player he did in his best form for Atalanta.

Gosens has not yet started a match since signing for Inter in January, having only come back from a long-term injury at the start of this month, but it may not be far away at this rate.
