Italian journalist Fabrizio Biasin believes that Inter cannot entirely use the excuse of lacking Marcelo Brozovic for their disjointed performance away to Torino yesterday evening.

Tweeting after the match, Biasin emphasized that even without the key midfielder, the performance to stumble to a 1-1 draw was not at the level befitting the Nerazzurri’s ambitions and reputation.

Brozovic was out of the team due to a muscle injury that he picked up during the week against Liverpool, and the signs were not positive considering that the last time the Nerazzurri were without the Croat they lost 2-0 to Sassuolo.

Until the very end of the match it looked as though Inter were headed towards a similar result, although they salvaged a point late on with an equalizer.

Nevertheless, even though the lack of Brozovic’s influence was an obvious factor in the nature of the result and performance, Biasin feels that this would be too simple an explanation.

Biasin tweeted that “Without Brozovic, Inter are never the same, but even without him, this can’t be Inter.”
