Italian journalist Paolo Condo believes that Inter looked disjointed and out of sorts against Torino, though they can take heart from the late equalizer by Alexis Sanchez.

Writing in his column in today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper La Repubblica, Condo suggested that while the Nerazzurri’s performance was not up to par on any level, they did give themselves a sense of momentum right at the end.

Inter had a first half to forget as the Granata used their aggressive man-to-man press to impose their preferred tempo on proceedings and prevent the Nerazzurri from gaining any kind of rhythm or fluidity.

In the second half and with some substitutions the Nerazzurri looked somewhat better, but still played out a scrappy match in which the sense of purpose and organization wasn’t really there.

Inter huffed and puffed without scoring an equalizer before a last-gasp strike by Alexis Sanchez salvaged a point and gave them a little more hope in the Scudetto race.

Condo writes that “Inter played a headless and exhausting game, they were spared by Brekalo and VAR, and in the end they can consider Sanchez’s draw a death a sign of destiny, an invitation to persevere.”

“Inzaghi’s problems, long hidden, are emerging,” he continues, “lack of squad depth, stuttering attack, Brozovic is irreplaceable.”

“But since the run-in will be more about muscle than technique,” he adds, “a lot will depend on their heads. If they are able to win at Anfield, they’ll hardly think that yesterday’s slip-up is a point of no return.”
