Former Napoli and Udinese head coach Giovanni Galeone believes that Inter are still the team likeliest to go on and win the Serie A title race.

Speaking to Italian broadcaster Radio Kiss Kiss Napoli, the former coach suggested that even though they are in a bad patch of form, the Nerazzurri could have luck on their side in the title race.

The Scudetto race looks tighter than it has all season, with the Nerazzurri five points behind city rivals AC Milan and two behind Napoli, with a game in hand on both.

This season looks likely to go down to the wire, and every detail will matter in determining the outcome, while Juventus are also lurking in the background having gained significant ground on the top three in recent weeks.

Inter’s form has been the worst that it’s been all season, and this could be a bad sign for their Scudetto defense, but Galeone still believes that they will just about have enough to win it in the end.

“At the moment I still see Inter as the favourites, despite the two points lost yesterday against Juric’s Torino,” he said. “Inter are suffering but have luck on their side, you see the goals they’ve scored in the last minute and they can do it.”
