Legendary former Inter, Roma, and Real Madrid striker Antonio Cassano believes that Inter are still the team with the best chance of going on and winning the Scudetto.
Speaking on Christian Vieri’s Twitch channel, as reported by FCInterNews, the 39-year-old named the Nerazzurri as the side who still have the slight edge in a Serie A title race which has tightened up considerably in recent weeks.
Inter had looked like they were the favourites to defend their Scudetto crown going into February, but after winning just two of their last eight matches, they have relinquished their lead and are now chasing AC Milan with Napoli and Juventus also in the mix.
None of the teams at the top have clearly shown the form needed to go all the way all season, and the outcome of the season will depend on which team can save their best for the decisive late stages of the campaign.
All of the teams at the top are now seen as real contenders, but in the eyes of Cassano, it’s still the Nerazzurri who have the most quality.
“Inter remain the favourites for the Scudetto for me,” he said, “If they are to lose the Scudetto this season, then it will be an easier season than others.”
