Former Inter and Roma midfielder Mancini feels that Inter are still the team likeliest to go on and win the Serie A title.

Speaking to Naples-based newspaper Il Mattino in an interview published in today’s print edition, the 41-year-old gave the view that the Nerazzurri should be considered slight favourites for the Scudetto.

The Serie A title race has tightened up significantly in recent weeks, especially due to the Nerazzurri’s dip in form to allow their rivals in and find themselves chasing AC Milan and Napoli, albeit with a game in hand.

However, the quality of the candidates will be what plays the decisive role in determining the destination of the Scudetto, and Inter could feel that they still have the edge over their rivals.

This is the view of Mancini, who still considers the Nerazzurri to be the team with the best Scudetto credentials over the remaining two months and change of this season.

“All the teams at the top have a chance to go for it,” he said, adding that “If I have to choose one team as favourites I’d choose Inter, I think they still have something more.”
