Inter midfielder Marcelo Brozovic will be fit to return to action in Saturday’s Serie A clash with Fiorentina, while defender Stefan de Vrij will have to wait longer.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, who report that the Croat should soon by back from injury whilst the Dutchman is aiming to make his return against Juventus after the international break.

Brozovic and de Vrij both had to be substituted off with muscle injuries during the Nerazzurri’s Champions League round of sixteen second leg clash with Liverpool, and both missed the team’s 1-1 draw with Torino over the weekend.

The midfielder had avoided worsening his problems in the training sessions before facing Torino, but he was unavailable for the clash with the Granata, and his absence was keenly felt as the Nerazzurri dropped points.

However, the player has been undergoing physiotherapy for the past couple of days, which has been going well, and the aim is for him to be back in full training by Thursday.

Meanwhile, de Vrij’s issues look to be somewhat more serious, and so there is no chance of the 30-year-old being fit to face Fiorentina, but he could make his return to the pitch against Juventus at the beginning of next month.
