Former AC Milan, Real Madrid, and Roma head coach Fabio Capello feels that Inter and their rivals must treat every match remaining in the Serie A as a potentially decisive one.

Speaking to Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport in an interview published in today’s print edition, the former coach emphasized how even matches against smaller teams can be classic pitfalls for the teams competing for the Scudetto.

Inter will see matches against teams in the top of half of the table such as Fiorentina, Roma, and perhaps above all Juventus as the most challenging fixtures among their ten remaining in the league.

However, every team in the league has shown the quality to get results against even the top sides, and a lack of discipline can easily be punished, especially by teams who could be motivated by the relegation fight at the bottom of the table.

Capello highlighted this, stating that “There are only a few matches left and each one can be the key match. I reiterate, this is a period in which nobody can afford even the slightest error.”

“And Juventus are back as well,” he added, “on a psychological level they are even fresher. The pressure is more on the other teams.”

He emphasized that “Every match now has its own story. And then I speak from personal experience: with Roma I lost a Scudetto a few days from the end of the season, drawing with the relegated Venezia.”

“In this hard-fought league, anything can still happen,” he was clear.
