Inter head coach Simone Inzaghi gave a rousing speech in training yesterday where he demanded that the squad raise their level from their recent string of performances as they head into the decisive months of the season.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, who report that the coach raised his voice and that his words were characteristic of a pre-season speech.

Inter’s form since the beginning of February has virtually collapsed compared to what it had been beforehand, and the coach identified physical and mental fatigue as being at the heart of this slump.

The coach has seen his team look indecisive in front of goal and sluggish in possession and defensively, and he identified this as resulting at least in part from the fact that the team has had to play twice a week for so long.

Now, the Nerazzurri mostly have a schedule of one match per week, and the coach wants the team to re-launch themselves at their best, starting with this weekend’s Serie A clash with Fiorentina.

Inzaghi gave a speech in which he emphasized that now that the team have more time to prepare there is no excuse, and that with every match potentially vital for the Scudetto, they most put everything negative behind them and get back to their best.
