Inter defender Danilo D’Ambrosio is likely to start in Saturday’s Serie A clash with Fiorentina in place of the injured Stefan de Vrij.

This according to today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, who report that the 33-year-old is favourite to start on the right side of the back three, with Milan Skriniar shifting to a central position.

De Vrij is still out with the calf injury which he picked up during the Nerazzurri’s Champions League round of sixteen second leg away to Liverpool, and coach Simone Inzaghi will have a decision to make in defense.

Andrea Ranocchia started in the Dutchman’s place against Torino on Sunday and will be a consideration for Saturday’s clash with La Viola, but according to Tuttosport, D’Ambrosio is favourite over him.

Moreover, Federico Dimarco could start on the left of the back three should the coach decide not to risk Alessandro Bastoni, who is one match away from suspension, in view of the clash with Juventus after the international break.
