Inter midfielder Arturo Vidal missed out on training yesterday with mild flu symptoms.

This according to Italian news outlet FCInterNews, who report that the Chilean stayed at home as a precaution, although he was tested for COVID and the test came back negative.

Vidal was not present in any of the photos from the Nerazzurri’s return to training yesterday after being given the day off on Monday.

There was some speculation that this could be a punishment by the club after the player had made comments to the media about hoping for a move to Flamengo in the near future, remarks which saw the Chilean receive a fine.

However, according to FCInterNews, this was not the case, and it was rather a matter of the 34-year-old having shown flu-like symptoms which made him unable to return to training.

It remains to be seen if Vidal will be back with the squad for today’s training session.
