Inter want to set an example to the entire squad by fining midfielder Arturo Vidal over his recent comments to the media about a possible move to Flamengo.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper La Repubblica, who report that the Nerazzurri want to show that they will not tolerate remarks that aren’t professional or appropriate.

Vidal recently made comments to Chilean broadcaster TNT Sports where he explained that he would welcome a move to Brazilian giants Flamengo, possibly as early as this summer.

The 34-year-old is expected to depart from the Nerazzurri at the end of the season, but the club still consider it very inappropriate to be commenting publicly on such matters and are unhappy with the player.

Accordingly, they will fine the Chilean for the outburst, which they hope will discourage other players from talking about similar matters publicly, such as when Alexis Sanchez commented about his lack of playing time on social media.
