Loaned-out midfielder Lucien Agoume is currently the likeliest candidate for Inter to back up Marcelo Brozovic in the squad next season.

This according to Italian news outlet FCInterNews, who report that the young French midfielder is the favourite to provide a deputy for the Croat, should he impress in pre-season when he returns from his loan spell at Brest.

Agoume has enjoyed his time on loan with Brest, becoming a key player for the Ligue 1 side in midfield after struggling for playing time with Spezia last campaign.

According to FCInterNews, the plan for the player is to have him spend the pre-season with the team ahead of next campaign and, should he impress Simone Inzaghi, be handed a spot in the senior squad.

Lyon are also reportedly interested in the 20-year-old’s signature in the event that Houssem Aouar, but for the moment, the Nerazzurri look more inclined to keep him to back up Brozovic than sell him.
