Former Inter defender Daniele Adani has said that Fiorentina will have to be very careful at the back because of the skill that Inter’s forwards possess, according to a report in the Italian print media.

Speaking during an interview with Corriere Fiorentino, a newspaper based in Florence, Daniele Adani took a look at how the game could pan out from a tactical perspective.

He feels that Fiorentina must attack Inter and try to pen them in, even if it means accepting some counter-attacks from Inter who have high quality forward players.

“The Viola can not refrain from pressing. Inter is always looking for the dribble and as Torino did, Fiorentina must attack them at the cost of accepting one on ones in defence. Clearly the attention in defence must be at a maximum because the skill of the Inter strikers is maximal.”

He went on to say that Fiorentina must keep the pace of the game high and make sure they play to their own strengths.

“So pressure and attention will be needed in the duels. In the nuances. In the details. And then Fiorentina must not give up to play its game, keeping the pace high with dribbling personality and trying to combine with the wingers.”

Daniele Adani also discussed the poor form that Inter have found themselves in in recent weeks. He feels that the tough game against Torino as well as the Champions League match with then players for half an hour against Liverpool has taken its toll on the team.

“The all-out pressure of Torino, after the commitment of the Champions League, has taken away energy at Inter, who have not been able to dribble, vary the timing and choices as it generally does very well. That’s why pressure creates turmoil in Inzaghi’s team.”
