Former Inter striker Alessandro Altobelli has said that Simone Inzaghi should use a different system against Fiorentina if Marcelo Brozovic is not fit, according to a report in the Italian media.

Speaking during an interview with La Gazzetta dello Sport, Alessandro Altobelli explained that a formation change would be better than trying to replace Marcelo Broxovic in the midfield as no one in the squad can do what he does for the team.

“Simone Inzaghi has to come up with something alternative. It is true that in that role there are no real substitutes because he is a real metronome and has no equal in the squad.

“But a solution must be found. Perhaps, we could change the formation. I would play a 4-2-3-1 which would require only two pure midfielders on the pitch.”

Alessandro Altobelli also discussed the future of Inter’s attacking department. He certainly feels that Sassuolo’s Gianluca Scamacca is a player that would improve Inter.

“Right now the future is Saturday with Fiorentina. Then there will be changes and Scamacca is certainly a strong forward who can grow further. He could be good for Inter, but with those qualities he could serve many other teams.”

Another striker that Inter have recently been linked with is Ajax’s Sebastian Haller. Alessandro Altobelli is also a fan of him it seems but admits it will not be easy as many clubs are interested in him.

“A great striker, as per the tradition of Ajax. He is the Eredivisie top scorer, has great technical and competitive qualities. He can play in any team or championship and he is a good profile, certainly an excellent player to catch. Of course, it will not be easy, now he has the eyes of many teams on him.”

It is not yet clear if Simone Inzaghi has any intention to his normal formation against Fiorentina or not.
