Inter could play with Hakan Calhanoglu in the middle of a midfield three against Fiorentina in the absence of Marcelo Brozovic, according to a report in the Italian media.

As has been reported by Corriere dello Sport, there is serious doubts about whether Marcelo Brozovic will recover in time or not to face Fiorentina on Saturday evening at San Siro.

He trained separately from the squad again on Thursday and will only be definitively evaluated on the morning of the match which kicks off at 18:00 local time in Milan.

Matias Vecino played in Marcelo Brozovic’s position against Torino last weekend and the Nerazzurri lacked control in the middle of the park.

Simone Inzaghi clearly wants to avoid that happening again which is why he may try a different person in that role.

It must be considered that Inter’s match after the international break is against Juventus and they need Marcelo Brozovic available for that game.
