Inter midfielder Marcelo Brozovic will be monitored on the field in training today ahead of the match against Fiorentina on Saturday, according to a report in the Italian print media today.

As has been reported today by La Gazzetta dello Sport, the Croatian midfielder is still a doubt for the home match against Fiorentina on Saturday afternoon.

He picked up a calf injury against Liverpool in the Champions League last week and had to sit out the 1-1 draw against Torino last weekend.

By taking part in a proper match on the training ground with his teammates, the midfielder can see if his calf has healed enough to play any part against Vincenzo Italiano’s side on Saturday at San Siro.

His absence had a clear negative effect on Inter against Torino and Simone Inzaghi will be desperate to avoid experiencing that again.

It is not yet clear who would take his place in the team.
