Sassuolo striker Gianluca Scamacca has said that the interest from big teams such as Inter inspires him to play better but he is not focusing on his future yet, according to a report in the Italian media today.

Speaking during an interview with Corriere dello Sport, the Italian forward explained that he does not think about the fact that many teams like Inter and Juventus are interested in him.

He also did not rule out the idea of going abroad instead, saying: “I don’t think about it, I’ve never given myself limits. When it comes to deciding, I’ll follow my heart. I went abroad once and I’m not afraid to make that choice again.”

He did admit though that the interest from the biggest clubs in Italy is something that inspires him, even if he does not follow the transfer market very closely.

The voices of interest from big clubs are nice, they inspire me. But I don’t follow the transfer market too much, certain situations don’t materialise quickly.”

Sassuolo recently beat Inter 2-0 at San Siro and Gianluca Scamacca scored one of the goals. He is clearly proud of having won that match in such a historic stadium.

I don’t know if it was the best of all, but one of the best. Winning at San Siro is always a good achievement. We are proud of that victory, in a stadium where so many great champions have played, against a team that is among the best.”

Inter are also linked with Davide Frattesi, his teammate at Sassuolo. It is clear that if the Nerazzurri signed both, they would already have a close friend in the squad.

Davide Frattesi and I are practically two brothers. We have always pushed each other, two destinies that have crossed since childhood. For me, having him in the team is a point of reference, an added value.”

Finally, when asked which defender has been the hardest to face this season, Gianluca Scamacca chose a player also linked to Inter: “Gleison Bremer from Torino.”
