AC Milan have expressed interest in signing Sassuolo forward Gianluca Scamacca whom Inter have been chasing for many months, according to a report in the Italian print media today.

As has been reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport today, the Rossoneri have made an appointment with Sassuolo to discuss the finances involved in bringing Gianluca Scamacca to Stefano Pioli’s side.

AC Milan director Paolo Maldini has been in contact with the Neroverdi regularly to discuss the player. It is not yet clear if AC Milan’s plan is merely to interfere with Inter’s attempts to sign the striker or if they are genuinely looking to bring him to the club.

Many have expected Gianluca Scamacca to join Inter at the end of the season as the two clubs have been in discussion for much of the season.

Nothing has been decided though so it is not impossible for him to end up at AC Milan instead.
