An Inter scout was in Istanbul yesterday evening to watch Brazilian defender Marcao take on Barcelona in the Europa League, according to a report in the Turkish print media.

As has been reported in Turkey by Haber365.com, the Brazilian defender is a possible target for the Nerazzurri in the summer as the club looks to improve its quality of depth at centre back.

Marcao actually scored in the game and that goal gave his team some hope that they could knock Barcelona out of the Europa League. The Spanish side scored twice afterwards to prevail.

The scout was reportedly impressed and Inter could make an offer to Galatasaray who would want no less than €20 million for his services.

He has made 19 appearances in the Turkish Super Lig this season and is seen as key player in the team. There is a good chance that Inter will not be the only interested club in the 25-year-old.
