Inter head coach Simone Inzaghi feels that he must be responsible for getting the team back to their best after their recent run of poor form.

Speaking in a press conference after their 1-1 draw with Fiorentina in Serie A, as reported by FCInterNews, the coach acknowledged that the team are a ways from their best and stressed that he will have to take the international break to re-launch them.

Inter drew 1-1 for their second Serie A match in a row, not able to find the winner despite their second half pressure against a Fiorentina side who deserved their point from the San Siro.

Now, the Nerazzurri find themselves even further behind their rivals at the top of the table than they had been at the start of the weekend, and their title hopes could be hanging on by a thread.

Inzaghi knows what he has to do, and will hope that he can give the team what they need to make a decisive final push in the closing months of the campaign.

“We need more, we need a win,” he said, “we need the shot by Sanchez that Castrovilli inadvertently blocks to go in,” he said.

“Objectively, compared to December through January, we are in a moment of poor form and it will be up to me and my staff to get this team firing again,” he went on.

“We’ll try to get back as many players as possible after the break,” he added, “especially with Juventus right after the break.”

“Clearly there is a bit of a intensity,” he said of the team’s lack of form in front of goal, “we’ve dropped off and we have to do more because our rivals are in good form.”

“There are nine games to go,” he said, “so there are still many points available.”

On the Scudetto race, he said that “We have a game in hand to make up, at the moment the episodes are harsh on us but I don’t believe in good or bad luck in our favour. We have to make the episodes go our way.”
