Inter will rely on Hakan Calhanoglu and Arturo Vidal to replace the role of injured midfielder Marcelo Brozovic in this evening’s Serie A clash with Fiorentina.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, who report that the Croat’s responsibilities on the pitch will be split between the duo.

Brozovic is set to miss out on this evening’s match having failed to recovery from the calf injury which kept him out against Torino in time, and coach Simone Inzaghi is strategizing how to avoid a similar match where his absence is keenly felt.

Calhanoglu will be given significant responsibilities in the buildup phase to cope without the Croat, whilst Vidal will start the match and have significant defensive duties protecting the back three, according to the Corriere.

The Corriere also report that Danilo D’Ambrosio will start in defense with Stefan de Vrij still out injured, predicting the following eleven to start:

Inter (3-5-2): Handanovic; D’Ambrosio, Skriniar, Bastoni; Dumfries, Barella, Calhanoglu, Vidal, Perisic; Dzeko, Lautaro.
