Italian journalist Sandro Piccinini feels that Inter are feeling the effects of tiredness and injuries in their recent run of poor form.

Speaking to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, the journalist gave the view that the Nerazzurri are currently experiencing a number of problems piling up and making their form as a whole fall off.

The Nerazzurri have now won just two points from their last nine matches in Serie A, and taken seven points from their last seven matches, clearly not the kind of form that they need to display if they are to win the title.

It is far from obvious what has brought the team to this point given that they were the form side in the division as recently as January, but there appear to be a multitude of issues.

Piccinini points to the fatigue that has set in from a difficult and packed fixture list, and to the badly-timed absences of important players through injury in his analysis.

“There’s a bit of nerves and tiredness and this is undeniable,” he said, “but we must not forget some key players missing.”

“Meanwhile, the two games played against Liverpool were played at a very high level by Inter, so the tiredness is psychological because Inter played well in those matches considering the pace of them,” he went on.

“Let’s add the issue of missing Brozovic, which is far from a minor problem,” he added.

He also gave the view that “Tomorrow Inzaghi will take a flogging because his team are no longer top of the table . We should remember where they started from, though,”

“If we had said Inter will be fighting for the Scudetto in March back in September, Nerazzurri fans would have been very happy,” he suggested.

“Having the illusion of having killed off the title race two months ago is a big credit to Inzaghi,” he said.
