Italian journalist Paolo Condo feels that Inter are creating problems for themselves by continuing to appeal to have the postponed Serie A clash with Bologna cancelled outright and awarded as a win.

Speaking to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, Condo gave the view that the Nerazzurri can only point to themselves for the looming game in hand against the Rossoblu, as they insist on appealing it.

The Nerazzurri were unfortunate to miss out on their clash away to Bologna on January 6, one of a number of Serie A fixtures that could not be played that weekend due to COVID cases in squads.

However, with the team having taken to the pitch and the Rossoblu players not having shown up, the Nerazzurri feel that it ought to be awarded as a 3-0 win rather than played at a different time, despite the circumstances.

Condo feels that now that the team keep seeing the fixture pushed back,a major asterisk of uncertainty in the Serie A table, they are only shooting themselves in the foot with their appeals.

“It’s an Inter mistake because it is Inter’s choice to go to appeal in an attempt to postpone it as much as possible,”he said.

“The motivation is obvious, since there was a concentration of matches, they wanted to remove this match from the schedule,” he continued.

“This is a match that has worried Inter since January,” he added. “In my opinion Inter should try to get this game in hand out of the way as soon as possible.”
