Juventus head coach Max Allegri feels that Inter and AC Milan are the two sides who are likeliest to go on and win the Serie A title.

Speaking in a press conference after his side’s 2-0 win over Salernitana, the Bianconeri boss gave the view that the Rossoneri should be seen as the team with control of the race but that the Nerazzurri can get back in it.

The Nerazzurri are six points back from the Rossoneri, albeit with a game in hand on their rivals, whilst Napoli are between the two sides and Allegri’s Juventus are now just a point behind Inter, albeit with the Nerazzurri again having a game in hand.

The Scudetto race looks tight and will be decided based on which of the teams at the top of the table show their best form over the remaining two months.

Milan’s perch at the top of the table would suggest that they are the team with the strongest chance, though Allegri feels that Inter in particular should still be seen as equal to them as favourites.

“Inter are still the favorite, sure,” he said.

“Milan have 66 points and it’s normal that they’re considered the favourites,” he continued. “But I believe that Inter have a very big chance of winning the Scudetto, not taking away from Napoli.”

“Now the pressure is starting to rise, things get more complicated. But I think that Inter still has a margin of advantage,” he suggested.
