Inter CEO Beppe Marotta feels that last season’s Scudetto triumph was to the great credit of owners Suning.

Speaking at the AIC Gran Gala Del Calcio, as reported by FCInterNews, the executive spoke highly of the work done and the ambition shown by the owners to build the team that won Serie A last campaign.

Inter had gone nine years without winning Serie A going into last season, but the signs had pointed to a team emerging that was strong enough to win the title, especially once Suning took over.

In the season before last, the Nerazzurri missed out on the title by just a point and also reached a Europa League final, and then last campaign they went all the way and won the Scudetto.

Now, the Nerazzurri are once again fighting to win the Serie A title, and the CEO feels that all of this is thanks to the work of Suning.

“We’re very proud of this award,” he said, “the seal on a season that brought us back to winning the Scudetto and above all brought us the kind of glory befitting the tradition and history of this club.”

“It is the result of everyone’s work,” he continued, “of the team that goes on the pitch and of the invisible team, the men and women who supported the team behind the scenes throughout the season.”

“But above all it is the result of the investments, foresight, and vision of the owners that helped us to reach the goal over years,” he concluded.
