Inter have put all contract extension talks on hold temporarily apart from those concerning Marcelo Brozovic in an effort to keep the team’s focus on the pitch.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, who report that the Nerazzurri do not want there to be any distractions from working to arrest the slide in form the team has suffered in recent weeks.

Inter have been engaged in talks to extend the contracts of captain Samir Handanovic and wing-back Ivan Perisic past the end of June, as well as working to extend defender Milan Skriniar’s deal past the end of June 2023.

However, with just seven points having been collected from the team’s last seven matches in Serie A, the situation has become such that they feel that all concentration must be put on improving things on the pitch.

The talks with Brozovic are a different story, however, as the agreement has long been in place and only the last bureaucratic details need to be settled, and the 29-year-old’s extension could be announced during the international break.
