Juventus will be relishing the opportunity to go ahead of Inter in the Serie A table if they are to win the head-to-head clash between the pair after the international break.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, who suggest that the Bianconeri will have this overtaking in mind even though they know that the Nerazzurri will still have a game in hand.

Juventus pulled to within one point of Inter in the table with their 2-0 win over Salernitana yesterday, capitalizing on a further stumble by the Nerazzurri who drew 1-1 with Fiorentina.

The Bianconeri still know well enough that catching up at the top of the table and getting into Scudetto contention will be a difficult ask, but they are taking it one step at a time.

Aside from the fact that the clash between Inter and Juventus is always an important occasion in Italian football given their longstanding rivalry, this edition of the fixture will be an opportunity for the Bianconeri to get a big symbolic victory by moving into third in the table.
