Legendary former Inter defender Beppe Bergomi feels that it is Napoli who have the slight edge in the race for the Serie A title.
Speaking to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, Bergomi suggested that while the Nerazzurri remain a formidable side, it is the Partenopei who have the best chance of going on to win the Scudetto.
The Serie A race looks as tight as it ever has, with Inter six points behind AC Milan and three behind Napoli but with a game in hand on each.
The Rossoneri have their fate in their hands though they will face a difficult run-in, whilst Napoli and Inter both have shown themselves capable of the kind of form needed to go all the way.
Bergomi feels that it is the Partenopei who have the edge, however, though the former defender does expect a tight title race when all is said and done.
“This year I immediately went with Napoli based on how their squad is constructed,” he said. “I like the work that the club and Spalletti have done, let’s see if they can do it. Inter are also strong, but my prediction leans towards Napoli.”
