Sampdoria Coach Marco Giampaolo: “Scudetto Race Has Been Great, Every Weekend There’s A Surprise Result”

Sampdoria coach Marco Giampaolo feels that this season’s Scudetto race has been exciting because there have been so many unexpected results from the top sides.

Speaking to Italian broadcaster DAZN after the Blucerchiati’s 2-0 win over Venezia yesterday, the coach weighed in on the Serie A title race and emphasized its unpredictable nature.

Inter, AC Milan, and Napoli are locked in a tight Scudetto chase, with Juventus lurking just behind them, but this hasn’t because they’ve all been in top form throughout the campaign.

Rather, all three have had good periods as well as bad periods in which they’ve failed to win matches they’ve been expected to, leading to a situation where no team has been able to pull away from their rivals.

Inter’s worst period of the entire season has come in recent weeks, but they will hope that they can get back into form and capitalize on any shock results from their rivals.

“The Scudetto race has been great,” Giampaolo said, “every weekend there’s been a surprise result. They are all strong teams, but very different from one another.”
