Inter head coach Simone Inzaghi has been the one responsible for the team’s decline due to physical fatigue and a lack of tactical versatility, according to Italian media.

This according to today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, who argue that the coach has not done enough to keep the team fresh and that they have suffered from a major slump in form as a result.

The Nerazzurri had looked unstoppable earlier in the campaign when they were executing Inzaghi’s tactics at their best, but since the beginning of February they have failed to convince.

Seven points from seven Serie A matches is nowhere near the form that they need to defend last season’s Scudetto crown, and the performances have not looked deserving of much more.

The team have looked tired and unable to really push for results, and Tuttosport lays the blame for this on the fact that Inzaghi has rarely trusted his entire squad and has used the key starters too much.

Moreover, they note that the coach has remained fully committed to his tactical approach even when it has looked as though the team has been in need of something different as they’ve slid in form.
