Former Inter striker Christian Vieri believes that it would represent a significant collapse if the Nerazzurri were to fail to win the Serie A title this season.

Speaking on his Twitch channel, as reported by FCInterNews, the former striker gave the view that it would be a huge failure on the part of the team to fail to win the Scudetto given that they looked in firm control of the race a few weeks ago.

The Nerazzurri sit six points behind city rivals AC Milan in the table and three behind Napoli, albeit having a game in hand on each.

This is a much different situation than just a few weeks ago, when at the beginning of February Inter enjoyed a sizable advantage at the top after having surged into the lead during their winning run in November and December.

Vieri believes that to give this lead up and fail to make good on it would be a big problem, stating that “There are seven or eight tired players, this is why Inter is losing points – if they let the Scudetto slip from their grasp it’s shambolic.”

He continued that “Inter have a very strong squad, I’ve always said that, that’s why Inzaghi has to start playing the likes Sanchez, Correa, Gosens from the start, players with energy.”

“What’s the problem if Dzeko and Lautaro are benched for two matches in a row?” he posed.
