Sassuolo CEO Giovanni Carnevali has given further confirmation that Inter are interested in striker Gianluca Scamacca, but also that there has not been anything serious in the attempt to sign him.

Speaking outside the United by Alessandro Moggi event, as reported by TuttoMercatoWeb, the executive updated on the transfer situation of the 23-year-old striker, who would not come cheap.

The Nerazzurri have been reported to have a strong interest in bringing Scamacca in this summer, with the striker a player who they hope to build their attack around for the future.

Scamacca’s form for the Neroverdi this season has marked him out as having the right quality and profile for the Nerazzurri, but the only question is whether they would prioritize investing in him.

Carnevali noted that the interest is there, but also that so far Inter have not taken concrete steps to get a deal done for him.

“There are no official requests either for him or for other players,” he said. “Inter were among the first to ask us for information, but we don’t have any great need to sell and there are requests for other players as well.”

He added that “If Scamacca leaves us it will be to sign for a big club, therefore for a large fee.”
