Legendary former Inter striker Christian Vieri feels that Inter should try playing Alexis Sanchez and Joaquin Correa together in attack.

Speaking on his Twitch channel, as reported by L’Interista, he questioned why the team have not made more use of the two forwards and suggested trying them out as a strike partnership.

Both Sanchez and Correa have contributed to the Nerazzurri this season, including by scoring some important goals, but neither have been regular starters throughout the season.

Coach Simone Inzaghi seems to clearly favour the likes of Lautaro Martinez and Edin Dzeko as his two first-choice starters, whilst the likes of Sanchez and Correa are seen as more impact options from the bench.

Vieri is not sure why this should be the case given the form and evident tiredness of the starting pair, and would like to see more of Sanchez and Correa in the run-in of the season.

“Those who haven;t played much must play more,” he said. “They must have them play so as not to always find everyone dead-tired.”

“If they always play the same players, they obviously get tired and won’t win matches,” he added. “Inter won against Liverpool and therefore did not seem so dead after the derby.”

He opined that “It’s useless to buy Correa for €30 million and not play him. Sanchez also has to play more. Lautaro and Dzeko are tired. You have to win games to win the Scudetto.”
