Inter are not planning to return to contract extension talks with captain Samir Handanovic or wingback Ivan Perisic until the end of the season.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, who report that the Nerazzurri have put the contract talks on hold to focus on improving their form on the pitch.

Handanovic and Perisic both see their current deals expire at the end of the season, and it is far from clear that the duo will agree extensions with the club.

Talks with the players’ representatives had begun at the beginning of last month, with both players having appeared amenable to the possibility of staying on past the end of this season.

However, the club have now taken the decision to postpone the talks and leave the players’ futures up in the air until the end of the season and return to the talks in the summer.
