Inter-owned goalkeeper Filip Stankovic would like to one day return to his parent club and establish himself there.

Speaking to Italian news outlet Gazzetta.it, the 20-year-old named playing for the Nerazzurri and being coached by his father, treble-winning midfielder Dejan Stankovic, as a career ambition.

Stankovic has a significant name to live up to, with his father having spent ten years in an Inter shirt where he won several Serie A titles and a European treble.

The young goalkeeper is starting to make a name for himself on his own terms, however, with his performances for the Primavera side formidable and his current campaign with Eerste Divisie promotion hopefuls Volendam showing what he can do in the senior game.

The player wants to work hard and continue to establish his credentials so that he can eventually go on to play for the Nerazzurri senior team as his father did.

Asked whether he follows Inter’s matches, he replied “Sure, all their games. Last week I was on my knees at home praying that Lautaro would score another goal against Liverpool.”

Asked what his dreams are, the young keeper said “I want to win at Volendam, then play for Inter, play with my brother, and be coached by my father.”

“When he won the Champions League I was in Madrid,” he went on, “I kissed the cup, If I could repeat 10% of what he did that would be great.”
