Inter will begin talks to renew Milan Skriniar’s contract in the next few weeks, according to a report in the Italian print media today.

As has been reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport today, the Slovakian defender is a key player that the club want to tie down to a longer and more lucrative contract.

He was named the best Slovakian footballer of 2021 earlier this week and his stock amongst other clubs is only rising, especially given his deal runs out in 2023.

In the next few weeks the club will officially open talks with him and his agent to secure an extension before the end of the season.

He currently earns €3.5 million per season but it is estimated that a new deal will at least start on €4.5 million per season, like Nicolo Barella’s contract.

Milan Skriniar is seen as a model of behaviour and professionalism at the club which is partly why they want to keep him.
