Inter and AC Milan have given the green light for the public debate on the construction of their new stadium, according to a report in the Italian media.

As has been reported today by La Repubblica, this big step towards a new stadium for the two teams will help to keep the process moving along.

A dossier will be drawn up by the teams which will allow the debate to be opened between the months of June and July.

That means that October 2022 is a month to mark on the calendar as that is when the council could give their final go-ahead for the project.

There has been a lot of speculation in recent weeks that the new stadium could be built in a different part of the city such as Sesto San Giovanni.

The mayors of various Milanese districts have been making their case as to why they should have the football stadium.
