Italian journalist Fabrizio Biasin has said that Romelu Lukaku called Inter to discuss the possibility of returning to the club, according to a report in the Italian broadcast media.

As was reported by Fabrizio Biasin whilst on the Twitch channel of Calciomercato, via FCInter1908, the Chelsea striker made himself known to Inter and made it clear that he would like to rejoin the club if there is any way of that happening.

“He personally made himself known to the Inter managers, he tried to understand if there are any possibilities to return.”

Unfortunately for the Belgian forward, the chances are minimal. The deal made between Inter and Chelsea last summer means that Inter are very unlikely to be able to afford him or get Chelsea to release him on loan.

“But the chances right now are really minimal. He earns a lot. He would be willing to cut his salary, but a deal worth over €100 million was made, it is difficult to think they can loan him back. Also because Lukaku has two offers from those who would like to invest in him, in the Premier League.”

Romelu Lukaku left Inter at the end of the summer transfer window for Chelsea but he has not settled at the team he grew up playing for.

In an explosive interview in December, he made it clear that he wants to play for Inter again.
