Inter’s two representatives in the Italy starting eleven against North Macedonia have received different reviews from the Italian media today.

As has been reported by FCInternews, Italy’s various sports newspapers gave out ratings to the Italy players as the Azzurri were eliminated from the World Cup qualification playoffs last night by North Macedonia.

Despite the awful result, Alessandro Bastoni was one of the players who had a solid game and cannot be blamed for the performance of the whole team.

He was steady in position and showed he can be a key player in the centre of Italy’s defence for many years. La Gazzetta dello Sport Corriere dello Sport and Tuttosport all gave him a six out of 10.

As for Nicolo Barella, he carried his poor club form into the game and looked a shadow of the player who was so crucial at Euro 2020.

He received five out of 10 from La Gazzetta dello Sport and Corriere dello Sport, and 4.5 from Tuttosport.
