Former Juventus midfielder Emanuele Giaccherini has said that Inter are a team in decline but they must beat Juventus to stay in the title race, according to a report in the Italian media.

Speaking during an interview with TuttoJuve, Emanuele Giaccherini explained that Inter are a team who are currently declining and Juventus are in a very good run of form compared to the other teams at the top of the table.

“Juventus, at the moment, are the team in the best form of the leading group. Inter are in decline, in difficulty, but we are always talking about the Italian champions.

“The Nerazzurri seen in the last two months are not the sparkling and spectacular ones at the start of the season, which is why I believe that the match with the Bianconeri could represent a strong relaunch.”

He then turned his attention to the match between Inter and Juventus that will take on April 3. He feels that the Scudetto result for these two teams will largely come down to who wins that game next week.

“Scudetto? It will depend so much on the Italian derby: Inter would be out of the game if they lose or draw. If they win they would instead be the favourite for the title.”

Juventus forward Paulo Dybala is out of contract in the summer and Intr are heavily linked with a free transfer for the Argentine.

Emanuele Giaccherini thinks that Juventus have got a new project in mind now that has Dusan Vlahovic at the centre.

“The choice of Juventus, as well as the words of Arrivabene, was very clear. I think that the non-renewal is due to the new project in mind, because Vlahovic – who is one of the best five forwards in the world – makes the department alone.”
