Inter President Steven Zhang is happy with what the team has achieved on the pitch so far in spite of a recent downturn in form.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, who report that the President has reiterated his support for coach Simone Inzaghi based on the results so far in the campaign.

Inter remain very much in the Scudetto fight, whilst they also have a chance to reach the Coppa Italia final with things all square going into the second leg of their semi-final tie against AC Milan.

Meanwhile, the team managed to win the Supercoppa Italiana against Juventus, whilst progression to the knockout rounds of the Champions League for the first time in a decade was also an important marker of progress.

Zhang’s patience for the slip in form is not infinite, but for now he has made clear to Inzaghi and the directors that the results have been in line with what he hoped for this season.
