Inter are looking to find a low-cost solution to back up Marcelo Brozovic in the squad for next season, with a return to the squad from loan for Lucien Agoume the likeliest possibility.

This according to Italian news outlet FCInterNews, who report that Roma’s Gonzalo Villar is also a possibility, whilst the likes of Jordan Veretout and Florian Grillitsch are not likely to be signed.

Brozovic remains the one player in Inter’s squad with no real like-for-like deputy, and rectifying this is a priority for the summer transfer window.

Agoume has impressed during his loan with Brest in Ligue 1 this campaign and he could be brought back, although another season away on loan starting regularly could be the best option for his development.

Meanwhile, Villar is on loan from Roma with Getafe, and while he has not really impressed in La Liga, he would likely be a low-cost option, and the Nerazzurri have good relations with his agent Alejandro Camano.

Another Giallorossi midfielder in the form of Veretout is not likely given that he would cost at least €15 million and wants higher wages than the €4 million net that he currently earns.

Lastly, Hoffenheim midfielder Grillitisch has been offered to Inter at the end of his current contract, but they are not interested.
