Inter go into next Sunday’s Serie A clash with Juventus knowing that they virtually need a win against Juventus, but their coach Simone Inzaghi has winning credentials against the Bianconeri.

This is highlighted in today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, who suggest that the coach’s record against the Bianconeri with Lazio and Inter shows that he has no reason to fear this opposition.

Inzaghi’s career record against Juventus remains balanced in favour of the Turin-based team, with the coach having beaten them five times, drawn twice, and lost nine times.

However, given the Bianconeri’s domination in recent seasons, this is still much better than most coach’s can boast, and it is worth noting that he has won three finals against them.

Inzaghi got the better or Juventus in the 2017 and 2020 Supercoppa Italiana finals with Lazio, and made it three from three in the competition with the Nerazzurri in January.

Moreover, the coach has bested the Bianconeri twice in the league while he was in charge of the Biancocelesti.

Inter will have no illusions of the scale of their task having not won away to the Bianconeri since 2012, but they will be looking at their coach as someone who could have what it takes to end this fruitless run in the fixture.
