Inter have lined up Genoa wingback Andrea Cambiaso as a replacement for Ivan Perisic should he not agree to a contract extension for next season.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, who report that the 21-year-old would be the main target to replace the 33-year-old in the event that he departs during the summer transfer window.

Perisic’s situation at the Nerazzurri remains up in the air, with it looking considerably likelier that the Croat will renew than it had a few months ago.

However, talks are still ongoing on a potential contract extension for the wingback, and the Nerazzurri are prepared to move on from him should he leave.

Robin Gosens arrived from Atalanta during the January window as a long-term replacement for Perisic, and the Croat could head for the exit door with Cambiaso as an understudy to Gosens, should Inter beat out the competition of Juventus and Napoli.
