Italian journalist Matteo Marani feels that Inter can get themselves right back into the Scudetto race if they play well against Juventus.

Speaking to Italian news outlet Sky Sport Italia, Marani underlined the view that a result against the Bianconeri would go a long way towards reestablishing the Nerazzurri’s Serie A title credentials.

Inter went from having a firm grasp on top spot in Serie A to chasing rivals AC Milan and Napoli in the space of two months between the last international break and this one.

Now, the Nerazzurri have ground to make up although it is just a three-point gap from league leaders AC Milan should they win their game in hand.

Inter have their toughest match left in Serie A, at least on paper, immediately after the break when they travel to face the Bianconeri, and should they get anything out of it then they will feel confident that they can go on to win the league.

“If Inter get a good resultagainst Juventus, all in all they’ll be back on track for the Scudetto,” Marani said. “Maybe they’re still the strongest team.”

He went on to predict that “Maybe it will be a turning point for Lautaro, it will certainly be the last chance for the Bianconeri to really get to the last day with the Scudetto still at stake.”
