Legendary former Juventus, Napoli and Italy goalkeeper Dino Zoff feels that Inter had been in control of the Serie A title race up until their loss to AC Milan in the derby at the beginning of February.

Speaking to Italian broadcaster Radio Marte, Zoff gave his thoughts on the Serie A title race and the way that the Rossoneri overtook the Nerazzurri in the table.

Inter went into their Serie A clash with their city rivals with a chance to put themselves ten points ahead at the top of the table, and even took the lead during the first half of the match.

However, in the second half the Rossoneri came back with a quickfire double by striker Olivier Giroud which made things look significantly tighter at the top.

In the subsequent weeks, the Nerazzurri’s drop-off in form has meant that their city rivals have jumped ahead of them in the standings, three points albeit with the Nerazzurri having a game in hand.

“Inter seemed to be the favourites,” Bordon said, “but then Milan beat them. Napoli are doing especially well too, and it’s all to be played for. As always we’ll see what happens on the pitch.”
