Inter have made the decision to release forward Alexis Sanchez and midfielder Arturo Vidal at the end of the season.

This according to yesterday’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, who report that the Nerazzurri are ready to move on from the pair and will terminate Sanchez’s contract and let go of Vidal at the end of his current deal.

Sanchez and Vidal are the Nerazzurri’s two highest earners at the moment, and the club are aiming to scale back their wage bill and shift the focus to youth in the squad.

Vidal’s current deal ends at the end of the current season, but contains an option to extend by a further season which the Nerazzurri will have to pay the midfielder a severance of €4 million not to activate.

Meanwhile, Sanchez’s deal runs until the end of June 2023, but the club can terminate it with a severance payment of €4.5 million, and as with Vidal they have decided to part ways with the 33-year-old.
