Roma midfielder is seeking a move away during the summer transfer window due to a lack of tactical fit with the team, amid interest from Inter.

This according to French news outlet Foot Mercato, who report that the 29-year-old has found his role in the side reduced and this has prompted him to consider a future away from the Giallorossi.

Veretout has played an important role for Roma since joining from Fiorentina in the summer of 2019, but after a positive start to the season he has found playing time harder and harder to come by.

A permanent change to the system by coach Jose Mourinho has seen them team move from having three central midfielders to just two in front of a back three, with the central midfielders having more defensive responsibilities.

Veretout’s style of play is not as suited to playing in this more reserved role covering for the strikers and wingbacksas January signing Sergio Oliveira, and so the Frenchman is feeling unsettled in the team.

According to Foot Mercato, all of Inter, AC Milan, and Marseille have been interested in Veretout since last summer, but none of them have stepped up their interest yet now that he looks to be available.
