Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku is in daily contact with Inter about returning to the club he left last summer, according to a report in the Italian print media today.

As has been reported by Tuttosport today, the Belgian forward texts friends at the club making clear that he wants to come back and play for the Nerazzurri again.

Because of Inter’s financial situation, a move is extremely unlikely. The Nerazzurri’s transfer business will be self-financed this summer with Stefan de Vrij and Lautaro Martinez the most likely to leave should a big bid arrive.

Romelu Lukaku was being paid €7.5 million per season at Inter, but moved on to €12.5 million at Chelsea. If he returned he would have to accept no more than €6 million which he is willing to do.

For Chelsea this is not attractive because they spent over €100 million on the Belgian and will not want to loan him back to Inter.
